How to plan a multi-city trip, step by step
Organising a multi-city loop looks hard because there are so many flights. In practice you just need to follow a clear order. Here are the steps, and what Go4Flights does for you along the way.
Start from your airport.
1. Start from your airport
See what your airport connects to with direct flights. The fewer routes it has, the more they matter: they are the constraint of the loop. The departure pages list the places and the lowest price found.
2. Set your dates, with some slack
Decide how many days you have and how far you can move them. One day can change the price of a leg, so a margin of a day or two opens up more options.
3. Decide how many cities
Two, three or four. Work out the time for each city, counting airports and transfers: with three cities in a week you get about two full days in each.
4. Check the order of the stops
The legs must follow one another and end at your home airport. The Route Builder lets you build the loop stop by stop. If you want a suggestion, the Smart Explorer proposes valid loops across the countries you pick.
5. Check luggage and times before booking
With low-cost airlines luggage is often paid separately and departure times can be very early or late. Read each airline's terms, then book on its site or on the partner site Go4Flights sends you to.

Frequently asked questions
Should I book all flights together or separately?
With low-cost airlines each leg is its own ticket. If one flight is late, the airline isn't required to cover the connection on another ticket, so leave a margin between legs.
How early should I book?
There's no rule that always holds. Prices change constantly, so compare several dates and book when the loop convinces you.
Do I need a visa or special documents?
It depends on where you go and your citizenship. Check each country's entry rules before booking.
